39 Palma Fotogràfica 2026 – My Third Participation in Palma’s Photography Competition

Capturing Palma through the lens

This year I participated in the photography competition 39 Palma Fotogràfica 2026, and for me it was the third timetaking part in this inspiring event in Palma de Mallorca.

Palma Fotogràfica has become one of the most well-known photography competitions on Mallorca. Every year, many photographers walk through the streets of Palma with their cameras, searching for creative ways to interpret the themes of the day.

During the competition, six themes are announced, and participants must capture them in their own unique way.

This year’s themes were:

  1. Bicycles and city life

  2. Decay and urbex

  3. Mirrors

  4. The train

  5. Neighborhoods

  6. Architecture

What makes this photography competition so interesting is that it forces you to see the city differently. Familiar places in Palma suddenly become new sources of inspiration when you are searching for a story, a composition, or a special moment of light.

Details, reflections, textures, and everyday scenes that you might normally walk past suddenly become the subject of a photograph.

A wonderful surprise

This year the competition brought another wonderful surprise: I won a prize again at 39 Palma Fotogràfica 2026.

The exciting part is that I don’t yet know which of my photos has won the prize. The winning image will only be revealed during the opening of the exhibition, so I am just as curious as everyone else to discover which photograph the jury selected.

Whisper of Light

Last year I also had the honor of receiving a prize with my photograph “Whisper of Light.”

The image was captured at La Llotja, one of my favorite locations in Palma de Mallorca. It is a photograph that revolves around subtle light, atmosphere, and a quiet moment in the city.

“Whisper of Light” can now also be found in the Fine Art Prints section of my website.

Photography exhibition in Palma – Centre Cultural La Misericordia

One of the most inspiring aspects of Palma Fotogràfica is the exhibition where the selected photographs are displayed together. It is fascinating to see how hundreds of photographers interpret the same themes in completely different ways.

The exhibition can be visited from Friday, March 20 until April 15.

📍 Centre Cultural La Misericordia – Sala planta 3
Plaça de l’Hospital 4, Palma de Mallorca

Opening (Inauguración):
📅 Friday, March 20

Opening hours:

Visit the exhibition

If you happen to be in Palma de Mallorca between March 20 and April 15, you are very welcome to visit the exhibition and discover the work of many talented photographers.

I am especially looking forward to seeing the photographs of the other participants and, of course, finding out which of my images has won the prize this year.

Photography competitions like Palma Fotogràfica are always inspiring experiences. They push you to look at a city differently and remind you that sometimes the most beautiful photographs can be found in the simplest moments of everyday life.
